Appointments
All patients are seen by appointment and these can be made by calling into any site of Coastal Medical Group or telephoning the surgery. APPOINTMENTS CAN BE BOOKED ON LINE, or via DIGITAL TV or MOBILE PHONE. If you are aged 16 or over, you can book a routine Doctors appointment on line. If you wish to take advantage of this new service, you will need to bring some photo identification, and proof of address ie., utility bill to register.
Contact Reception where possible between 9am to 12noon and 2pm to 6pm (the registration process will only take approximately 5-10 minutes.)
On arrival for appointments patients should always check in with reception. If your appointment is at Morecambe Health Centre there is also an automated check in system available for use. This has been in operation since the summer of 2006 and is easy to use. There are simple instructions on the wall by the equipment and staff are always willing to assist on request.

It is quick and easy to register. You will need to come into the surgery for an application form and then you will be given the relevant details to enable you to set up an account and use the system.
Once registered you will be able to view any appointments you have already made, cancel them if necessary, or book a new appointment with the doctor.
When you book an appointment online you will receive confirmation which you can print off and bring with you when you attend the surgery. There is no need to reconfirm

GP Routine Appointments (10 minute appointment slots) – Available at All Sites
A number of appointments are available up to two weeks in advance; others may be booked on the day you wish to be seen. Where possible we will aim to make you a routine appointment with the GP of your choice. Doctors are available for consultation at varying times during the day.
Working Person Appointments
For patients who work we will now have 2 GP surgeries running each evening (Monday to Thursday) and 4 in each of these surgeries are allocated for people who work and are available to book upto 4 weeks in advance. Some days we also have early morning Working Person slots available at 8am, 8.10am and 8.20am. The Early Morning slots will be rotated between the three practice sites, whereas the evening appointments will be held at the appropriate covering site (please refer to extended opening times information). Always advise us as soon as possible if you are unable to attend for your appointment – this will allow us to use the time for someone else
Urgent/Minor Illness (Acute) Appointments – Available at West End Site
Urgent cases will be dealt with on the day although not necessarily with the doctor of your choice. Our GPs run emergency surgeries in conjunction with our Nurse Practitioner surgeries through out the day. The Receptionist will ask for details of your urgent medical problem in order to direct you to the most appropriate health care professional. Please note that this service is for matters urgent for that day and it is not appropriate to discuss ongoing or chronic medical conditions.
