About Coastal Medical Group

Coastal Medical Group was formed on the 1st April 2005 by the merging of four practices based in the Morecambe area, Dr T D Bell & Partners at Heysham Health Centre, Dr R Dillon and Partners and Dr C D Evans and Partners at Morecambe Health Centre, and Dr P A Townley & Partners at West End Surgery.

The Practice now works out of three sites:-

West End Site 1 Heysham Road Morecambe LA3 1DA	Morecambe Health Centre 1 Hanover Street Morecambe LA4 5LY	Heysham Health Centre Middleton Way Heysham LA3 2LL

Patients can be seen at any of the three sites for routine appointments. However our West End site is the main site for all urgent appointments in the urgent/minor illness clinics.

The doctors and nurses covering these clinics have to work together and liaise on cases as they occur and because of this the service needs to be based at one site, the West End site was chosen because it is the central site for the practice area it should cut down on travelling for most of our patients.

The doctors all have their own main base site but to maintain the necessary levels of service on each individual site doctors may need to be moved around to cover vacancies created by holidays, sickness as well as covering for the urgent duties at West End site and covering for home visits.
